Without irony, David Hasselhoff released this ode to picking up his daughter’s friends.
He re-teamed with KITT, who hasn’t worked since Knight Rider. KITT, now a recluse, does nothing but watch reruns in his Hollywood Hills garage-home.
The video was filmed in Australia, which is why KITT had to be right-hand drive. The car’s got acting range, but not a lot of driving range with that thirsty V8.
Keep in mind that this song was made in 2006. Three years after The White Stripes released Elephant. As if The Hoff hadn’t turned on a radio in twenty years.
That’s the beauty of rolling with yes-men. “Sure Dave, it’s hot. No, it doesn’t sound completely outdated at all.”
And why no Billy Ocean cameo?
Jump in My Car – aka Lyrics For Stalkers:
Jump in my car,
I wanna ta-ake you home,
come on and jump in my car,
it’s too far to walk on your ow-own
No thank you sir-ir
Ah, c’mon, I’m a trustworthy guy
No thank you sir-ir
Oh little girl I wouldn’t tell you no lie
I know your ga-ame
How can you say that, we’ve only just met
You’re all the sa-ame
Ooh, she’s got me there, but I’ll get her yet
